Glimpsing the Future with Electrolux

Renowned international brand, Electrolux, kicked off the 2010 edition of the annual Electrolux Convention today with the showcase and preview of the latest groundbreaking appliances. Running from 8-10 July, the convention brought the corporation closer to its publics, with separate sessions for the media, dealers and customers. The Convention also coincides with the launch of the Electrolux Escapade Promotion running from mid-July to the end of September, where every purchase of Electrolux appliances will entitle customers to receive vouchers redeemable for tour packages.

Speaking at the opening of the convention, Dr Suresh Balan, President of Electrolux East Asia, said, ”At Electrolux, all our product innovations are created with our consumers in mind. Our thoughtful designs reflect that we’re always thinking of the people who use our appliances, no matter where they are. We are always cognisant of the different needs from markets all over the world, and for this purpose, our constant efforts to gather up-to-date consumer insights have been a great blessing for our design team.”

Dr Suresh added that their company policies have always served them well, and more and more people are coming to know and trust the Electrolux brand. “Electrolux’s corporate performance reflects the confidence consumers have in our products and we’re very heartened that we are growing faster than the market’s average growth,” he added.

Mr Koh Soh Hoie, General Manager of Electrolux Home Appliances Malaysia added to this positive sentiment, saying, ”Our appliances reflect the needs and concerns of consumers with various lifestyles, which are similar in societies around the world. Homeowners now prefer household appliances that can be tailored to changing needs. Design is also an important factor, as the product’s appearance is expected to reflect the owner’s personality and values, and to match other products.

The appliance showcase and preview saw three rooms of creative concept product displays of current appliances as well as appliances to be launched in the coming months. The concept product displays were called the Electrolux Laundry Mart, Electrolux Cafe, and the Electrolux Fashion House. Electrolux staff demonstrated the display highlights, while all other products displayed were available for hands-on testing by visitors.   

The Electrolux Laundry Mart showcased the latest appliances in fabric care and laundry, including washers, dryers, and irons. Highlights of the Laundry Mart include the current new range of washers, the recently launched T-Drive top load washer, and the to-be-launched 11kg front load washer and dryer pair and the 2-in-1 13kg washer and 8kg dryer combo.

The Electrolux Café, decorated in a stylish black and white theme, with staff dressed in chef and maid outfits, showcased a kitchen collection, as well as stand alone kitchen appliances, with the highlights being the new ebony kitchen collection in a stylish black European design, and the two newly launched Side-by-Side models of the e:line collection with features such as digital display control, ice and water dispensers and the home bar.  

The Electrolux Fashion House, creatively set up in the style of a fashion runway, showcased new vacuum cleaners from the flagship lines, the Ultra Range and the Ergorapido. The models included the premium UltraOne™, the light and super-portable UltraActive™, the super quiet UltraSilencer™ Green, and the stylish 2nd Generation Ergorapido™ 2in1.

Other attractions planned for the fun 3-day weekend fiesta of all things Electrolux are team building activities and a Trivia Quiz session for dealers on 8 and 9 July, and a feng shui kitchen seminar by renowned practitioner Professor Master David Koh and Trivia Quiz session for specially invited customers on 10 July.
